Burnt & Blackened Salsa Verde
Our interpretation of the traditional Mexican Salsa Verde! We blackened tomatillos and chili peppers on our charcoal grill and combined them with fresh Serrano and yellow Habanero peppers, a whole bunch of garlic, lime and coriander so fresh that they pop out of the bottle.
The heat is zesty but moderate so it doesn't overwhelm the fresh, juicy flavors that make this salsa verde a hit.
Use this salsa verde to liven up your tacos, burritos, quesedillas and all other tortilla dishes! Drizzle it over avocado salads, fresh fish, rice and chicken or pork dishes, or your omelet.
This spicy salsa verde also works well with lighter white wines that have a 'green' streak, such as a light sauvignon blanc or a Portuguese Vinho Verde!
